Welcome to Get Designing!

Introduction

This website is intended to get you information on the software design process. It accompanies the video series that can be found on our YouTube channel. Our aim is to try to encourage people to try to formalise the design step as part of their development process. A well devised design process offers a number of benefits in a very efficient process. These benefits could each be achieved in other ways, but we have found that bringing them all together has made the teams we have worked on much more successful.

Design Tool

If you like what you saw in the design demo and want to try out the tool, head to the documentation site. https://desigen-docs.dotnotstandard.com/docs/installation

The documentation site details how to install the product (including the required prerequisites) and provides some help on how to use it once it is installed. Check out the tutorials for a walkthrough of a design that you can follow along with. For those that prefer it, following along with the demo video is also a viable option for learning the tool and the technique.

YouTube Videos

This site is intended to accompany our Agile Software Development video series on our YouTube channel. If you have not yet watched the videos then that might be a good starting point. The link to the video series on agile software design is https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjvHiORS85l6zeDj-0WhBCCuTXYy6WKb1

The channel can be found at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCHGv8R19QrmmbnBPL8wBgAQ

Unfortunately, YouTube does not allow us to have a simpler, custom channel URL unless we reach a minimum subscriber count.

More Detail

To read more about the benefits of the software design process, go to the Benefits section. Some of the ways you might use to complete your designs are listed in the Methods section - although we think that our custom design tool, link above, is a pretty compelling solution!
